PENSACOLA, FLA. - The NCAA Division II Mens and Womens Tennis South Regional concluded today with the second round of the NCAA Division II Championship Tournament. No. 4 West Florida (23-5) triumphed over No. 37 Lincoln Memorial 5-1 to head to Altamonte Springs, Fla. for Nationals.

The Argonauts were ahead 2-1 over the Lady Railsplitters after doubles action this morning. LMU's No. 1 doubles team of Elena Hudzikova and Regina Sertschnigg upset fifth-ranked Nicole Plikat and Eva Papastratides (14-8) 8-5, but UWF had the No. 2 and 3 wins. Paola Arevalo and Pilar Cortes (16-7) defeated Helena Sokolova and Sasa Dzuganova 8-4 at No. 2, then Giuliana Oblitas and Diana Olave (24-2) blanked Erika Jonsson and Rachel Redmond 8-0 at No. 3.

Papastratides (14-6), ranked No. 26 in the nation, was the first singles win for UWF at the No. 4 spot in two 6-0 sets. Oblitas (19-2) also shut out her opponent Jonsson at No. 6. Cortes (21-6) won 6-2 and 6-0 over Sertschnigg at No. 4 to end the match. The No. 1, 2 and 5 matches were unfinished.

UWF will play the Northwood University of Michigan in the Round of 16 on Wednesday, May 11 in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
