#1 BYU-Hawai'i 5, Millersville 0

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla.-The #1 BYU-Hawai'i women's tennis team breezed past Millersville (12-4) by the score of 5-0 in the opening round of the NCAA Division II National Championships. Winners of the past three-consecutive national championships, the Seasiders have won the the last five-of-six titles, all since joining the the NCAA in 1999.

BYU-Hawai'i (27-0) did not lose a single game in all three of the doubles matches as the top-ranked doubles team in the nation of Jing Jing Liu and Adrienn Hegedus notched the first match point defeating Steph Eckhart and Katie Opilo by the score of 8-0. Seventh-ranked Tetyana Bula and Petra Teller swept Morgan Burdette and Christy Lilli 8-0 at the second position as Gurianna Korinihona and Crystal Schwenke blanked Caitlin Golden and Annie Bauermaster 8-0 at the third spot.

The Seasiders quickly ended the match in singles competition as Adrienn Hegedus, the second-ranked singles player in the nation, rolled past Katie Opilo 6-0, 6-0 at the second position as 14th-ranked Petra Teller blanked Christy Lilli 6-0, 6-0 at the fourth spot for the fifth team point.

Now advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals tomorrow at 2 p.m., the Seasiders will take on #8 Columbus State at Sanlando Park.
