The Saints, who are making their third consecutive NCAA appearance, went into singles play leading 3-0 after doubles play. St. Scholastica expanded its lead to 4-0 when Ploy Suthijindawong extended her current winning streak to 19 matches after defeating Kelsie Allen 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.

However, Luther won the next three singles points to pull within 4-3 when Kathryn Nichols defeated 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5 singles, Cami Czech defeated Natalie Urick 6-3, 6-1 at No. 6 singles, and Fran Fairfield defeated Paula Beckermann 7-5, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. Callee Conda recorded the deciding point with a 7-5, 7-6 (7-3) win over Brynne Zinnecker at the No. 4 spot. The decision was the Saints' first NCAA post-season victory in program history.
