LOS ANGELES - Seventh-seeded UCLA made quick work of Army in the first round of the NCAA Women's Tennis Championships on Friday, posting a 4-0 victory over the Black Knights at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. The Bruins advance to Saturday's second round and will meet Arizona State at 3:00 p.m. The Sun Devils beat St. Mary's, 4-1 earlier in the day.

UCLA was outstanding in doubles on Friday, cruising to a pair of 8-0 victories at court Nos. 1 and 2 to claim the point. In fact, the Bruins didn't surrender a single game in doubles, as UCLA's Noelle Hickey and Nina Pantic were up 6-0 at court No. 2 when play was suspended.

The Bruins followed up their spectacular doubles play by cruising to three straight-set victories in singles to take the match 4-0. Maya Johansson, Andrea Remynse and Hickey accounted for UCLA's three wins.
