TURLOCK, Calif. - No. 17 UC San Diego won four of six singles matches Saturday en route to defeating No. 19 Cal State Stanislaus, 5-4, at the CSUS Tennis Courts. It was the fourth consecutive victory for the Tritons.

UC San Diego improved to 8-5 while Cal State Stanislaus dropped to 4-7.

"Everyone played really well despite very windy conditions," said UCSD head coach Liz LaPlante.

The Warriors took a 2-1 lead after winning the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches. However, the Tritons rallied once singles play began as they won four match-ups in straight sets.

At No. 2, Cindy Dao defeated Katie Eng, 6-0 and 6-3. Samantha Yeung was victorious in her No. 4 singles match, downing McKenzy Harden, 6-0 and 6-3. Katie Mulloy didn't drop a single game against Erin McGurty at No. 5.

"Katie (Mulloy) played better than I've ever seen her play before," said LaPlante.

Finally, Jacquelyn Davis defeated Lexy Harrington, 6-2, 6-0, in the No. 6 singles tilt.
