MORROW, Ga. – Returning to Peach Belt Conference action for the first time in over two weeks, Clayton State  made it five consecutive victories with a huge 7-2 victory on Monday against rival Georgia College.

No. 12-ranked Clayton State improved to 10-5 overall and 7-3 in the Peach Belt while No. 26 Georgia College fell to 12-7 overall and 7-4 in the conference.

The Lakers swept all three matches in doubles, and won four matches in singles. Picking up singles victories for Clayton State was Victoriya Semyrodenko with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Georgia College’s May Johnson at No. 1, followed by a 6-0, 6-3 victory by Ivana Krommelova at No. 3 against the Lady Bobcats’ Kim Lochner.

Martina Dedaj prevailed at No. 5 with a 7-5, 6-7 (3-7), 10-3 three-set victory over Michelle Lingner from Georgia College, and Jessica Budd was victorious, 6-3, 6-3 against the Lady Bobcats’ Kelly Edwards at No. 6.

Georgia College's two wins came from Kayla Barksdale, who defeated Katie White 6-4, 2-6, 10-6 and Lisa Seyton's victory against Marie Cercelletti, 6-1, 2-6, 10-5.
