PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Ninth-ranked West Florida won its third consecutive match on Thursday afternoon as the Argos blanked Northeastern State 9-0. With the win, UWF moves to 14-6 on the season while Northeastern State falls to 9-7.

West Florida swept all three doubles matches to start play. At the No. 1 position, the No. 18-ranked duo of Caitlyn Baines and Sheila Smiley defeated Ivana Belejova and Jeanne Mallem 8-2.

Argonauts Barbara Oliveira and Mariana Sonnervig teamed to defeat Tijana Skalusevic and Sara Trott 8-2 at the No. 2 line. Fernanda Amaral and Hannah Durham defeated Houda Bellamine and Barbora Jirickova 8-4 at No. 3 to complete the sweep for West Florida.

The Argos won all six singles matches in straight sets. Oliveira, who is currently ranked No. 29 nationally in singles, recorded a 6-1, 6-1 victory against Belejova at the No. 1 position. Mariana Sonnervig tallied a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Trott at the No. 2 spot.

At the No. 3 line, Luiza Sonnervig dropped just two games in her 6-1, 6-1 victory against Bellamine. Smiley defeated Mallem, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 4. At No. 5, Baines defeated Skalusevic, 6-2, 6-1. At the No. 6 singles position, West Florida's Naomi Higa defeated Jirickova, 6-2, 6-2.
