WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Tufts will play in the Nor'Easter Bowl final on Sunday after earning a 7-2 victory against host Wellesley in the semifinals on Saturday. The Jumbos will play NESCAC's Amherst in the championship match on Sunday.

The 12th-ranked Jumbos took care of No. 18 Wellesley rather handily. Tufts swept the doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead. Sophomore Shelci Bowman and partner Sophie Schonfeld won a 7-4 tie-breaker to take the first match. Junior captain Lindsay Katz and sophomore Eliza Flynn were 8-3 winners in second doubles.

In singles, sophomore Samantha Gann and junior Janice Lam were quick winners for Tufts in the fourth and sixth matches, respectively. After losing the first set 6-4, Bowman rallied for 6-3 and 6-4 finals to win Np. 2.  Flynn added a straight-set win at No. 3 as Tufts took four of six overall.

Wellesley picked up points at one and five. Marie Watanabe was a 6-2, 7-5 winner against Katz in the first flight, while Sojung Lee topped Rebecca Kimmel 6-3, 6-2, at five.
