LAS VEGAS -- Top-ranked and defending NCAA Division II national champion Armstrong Atlantic moved to 2-0 on its trip out West with a 7-2 victory against No. 5 Hawaii Pacific on Wednesday at the Darling Tennis Center.

The Pirates moved to 13-0 on the season while handing the Sea Warriors (9-1) their first loss of the 2013 season.

Armstrong collected wins in all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead heading into singles play. The top-ranked doubles duo of Aleksandra Filipovski and Barbora Krtickova defeated Vivian Hansen and Magdalena Smejova 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. The No. 6 duo of Olga Kalodzitsa and Marlen Hacke beat Lea Kruse-Ultermann and Karen Ramirez 8-6 at No. 2 doubles, while Clara Perez and Natasa Vukovic also won 8-6 against Celina Goetti and Ielyzaveta Rybakova at No. 3 doubles.

The Pirates then won four of six singles matches to clinch the match against the Sea Warriors. No. 8 Filipovski downed No. 39 Ramirez 6-3, 1-6, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, while No. 33 Perez defeated Hansen 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. No. 13 Kalodzitsa rallied for a 6-2, 6-7 (4), (10-8) win against No. 44 Smejova at No. 5 singles and Jessica Gardefjord notched a 7-5, 5-7, (13-11) win against Kruse-Ultermann at No. 6 singles.

Hawaii Pacific's points came at No. 1 singles where Rybakova beat No. 2 Krtickova 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 and at No. 3 singles where No. 40 Goetti upended No. 14 Hacke 6-4, 7-6 (6).
