SAINT LOUIS, Mo. -- Principia completed its undefeated conference season with a 5-0 win against Webster at the SLIAC Championships on Saturday.

Carlie Sanderude and Sarah Corbitt, Principia's No. 1 doubles duo, came out determined and quickly finished off their opponents 8-1.

At No. 2 doubles, Kelly Adams and Hanne Andersen won 8-2 with aggressive volleys from both players. Andersen was imposing at net and closed off many returns after Kelly set her up with strong ground strokes.

Olivia Ikuma and Justine Roy battled back and forth at No. 3 doubles and were tied at three. In the seventh game, the play went deuce-advantage many times before the duo broke serve. They led the rest of the way. Justine made many poach volleys and played some of her best doubles of the season.

After the doubles round, the Lady Panthers led 3-0.  All six singles went out at the same time. Andersen ran through her match and overwhelmed her opponent 6-0, 6-0, providing the fourth point for the team.

Shortly thereafter, Carlie Sanderude won 6-1, 6-0, cinching the match win and the conference championship. The other matches were unfinished.

The team will take a few days off and then prepare for the NCAA regional tournament, which will be held May 9-11.
