Salvador, Rollins roll to victory

WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Rollins rolled to its sixth consecutive win on Thursday afternoon, defeating No. 21 St. Mary’s (Texas) 7-2.

The Tars improve to 8-2 while St. Mary’s falls to 9-2.

Rollins led 2-1 after doubles, dropping only the top-flight match. Shannon Etten and Ashley Rosenberg improved their record as a pair to 4-3 with a win in the No. 2 match while Carli Davis and Mariana Salvador won their fourth match in the row, downing Briana Fellows and Joanie Bryant 8-2.

The Tars carried momentum into singles play as well, winning five of six matches, highlighted by Rosenberg’s 6-3, 6-4, win against 18th-ranked Mariana Rong for her fifth consecutive victory.

Salvador notched her seventh singles win in a row while Emma Wookey won her third consecutive win when Bryant retired in the No. 6 match to stay undefeated in singles on the year
