HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- Sophomore Lindsay Morris picked up a three-set victory in singles action to help lift Gettysburg past Nazareth 5-4 on Thursday morning.
Gettysburg (3-2) won four singles matches to secure the decision. Junior Isabelle Rodriguez and sophomore Sotherd Steer each improved to 4-0 this spring with wins at third and sixth singles, respectively. Rodriguez blanked Jean McCarthy 6-0, 6-0, while Steer defeated Elizabeth Crane 6-3, 6-4.
Freshman Laura Gradiska added her third win of the trip with a 6-2, 6-0 decision at the second flight. Morris fell behind with a 6-1 loss to Krista Pagan in the first set, but she bounced back with 6-4 and 10-8 wins to claim the decision.
Rodriguez and senior Maggie McLaughlin, who lost in three sets in singles action, accounted for the lone doubles point with an 8-1 win at No. 2.
