Mary avenges 2013 playoff defeat, downs Winona State 5-4

GRAND FORKS, N.D -- Facing the second winningest team in the Northern Sun in the past five years, Mary (8-4, 8-1 NSIC) handed Winona State (6-9, 5-2) a loss Friday night. Avenging their playoff defeat from last season, the Marauders defeated the Warriors 5-4.

With their fourth consecutive win overall, U-Mary has set a program record with eight NCAA wins. Winners of their past six conference matches, the Marauders have set a program record with eight NSIC wins.

The No. 1 ranked team in the country is appropriately well represented as four Nittany Lions lead the pack for Most Dominant in Division I. Bo Nickal is first for Penn State by producing 5.33 average team points per match, followed by Jason Nolf (5.16), Vincenzo Joseph (5) and Shakur Rasheed (4.8).

Central Michigan heavyweight Matt Stencel takes sole possession of first place in Division I with 15 falls, one more than George Mason 165-pounder Colston DiBlasi with 14. Kent State’s Andrew McNally continues to hold solo third place with 12 falls, while five more wrestlers have 10 or 11.
