Harding wins eighth consecutive with 9-0 shutout of Ouachita Baptist

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. -- Harding won its eighth consecutive match with a 9-0 blanking of Ouachita Baptist on Tuesday in Great American Conference play.

Harding, who defeated Ouachita Baptist for the 10th consecutive time, improved to 13-5 overall and remained perfect at 5-0 in the GAC. Ouachita Baptist fell to 0-12 overall and 0-6 in the GAC.

Harding, ranked No. 10 in the ITA Central Region Rankings, won all three doubles matches for the eighth time this season and for the second consecutive match. Benyapa Phumtip and Piper Huey won their second consecutive match and eighth of the season with an 8-3 victory at No. 1. Ali Rowden and Katie Huff won their team-best ninth double match together with an 8-2 victory at No. 2. Autrey Bradley and Arielle Butler played together for the first time this season and won 8-0 at No. 3.

Ouachita Baptist's Keely Howk played in doubles but did not play singles, and the Lady Tigers were forced to forfeit No. 6 singles to give Harding a 4-0 lead.

The Lady Bisons cruised to victory in the other five remaining singles matches, winning each of them in consecutive sets. Huey won her seventh consecutive match with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2. It was her team-best 16th singles victory of the season.
