Arkansas Tech holds off Harding

BOLIVAR, Mo. -- Arkansas Tech withstood a late charge by Harding to earn a 5-4 victory and a spot in the NCAA Division II Central Regional final on Tuesday.

The Golden Suns held a 3-0 lead after doubles with wins coming fron Nozomi Matsuoka and Tamara Bell at No. 1, Olga Leyshyna and Bohdana Sardak at No. 2 and Laura Sanchez and Camila Roca at the third court.

Harding responded to win four of the single matches but wins by Matsuoka at No. 1 and Sanchez at the sixth spot were enough to advance the Golden Suns.

Arkansas Tech snapped Harding's 13-match winning streak.

Up next for the Golden Suns is a meeting on Tuesday with Southwest Baptist for a right to advance to the Round of 16.
