Lim seals Claremont-M-S' win

CLAREMONT, Calif. -- In the third round of the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships, Claremont-M-S cruised to a 5-0 win against Pomona-Pitzer on Sunday at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center. Pomona-Pitzer ends its season with an overall record of 17-8 while CMS improved its record to 22-7 and advanced to the quarterfinals against Johns Hopkins. That will be played on May 19 in the afternoon at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center.

CMS started the match with three consecutive points in doubles as Caroline Ward and Katie Kuosman started them off with an 8-3 win against Samantha Chao and Lea Lynn Yen in No. 1 doubles. CMS received the second point of the match as Crystal Lim and Yvonne Likomanova got the win in No. 3 doubles with a dominant 8-1 victory versus Claire Willey and Maddie Gordon of Pomona-Pitzer. Chloe Dobbert and Sarah Kukino of CMS finished the doubles portion of the match with an impressive 8-3 win against Arthi Padmanabhan and Mae Coyiuto of Pomona-Pitzer in No. 2 doubles.

CMS kept the winning going as Yvonne Likomanova defeated Claire Willey of Pomona-Pitzer 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 6 singles match.  Crystal Lim gave CMS their fifth and final point as she defeated Maddie Gordon of Pomona-Pitzer in the No. 5 singles match.
