MARIETTA, Ohio -- Sixth-ranked Mount Union opened the outdoor season by winning six events at the Don Frail Invitational at Marietta.
Sean Donnelly won the discus with a mark of 141-08 and placed second in the hammer throw with a mark of 173-09.
The Purple Raiders swept the top four spots in the 5,000 meters as Dan McGeary won the event with a time of 15:19.62 and was followed by Dylan Garritano, Alex Wilson and Matt O'Neill.
Mount Union also went 1-2 in the javelin as Alex Kovalik claimed the win at 177-07 and was followed by Brad Keller.
Chase Swisher won the 100 meters (11.05), Andrew Schroeder won the 400 hurdles (58.45) and Levi Simmons won the long jump (21-7.25) to round out the event winners.
Other top performances were had by Andrew Shrewsbury, who was second in the 200 meters (23.00) and third in the 100 meters (11.23) and Lucas Grim with a second-place finish in the 800 meters (2:00.36).
