Relays pace Wis.-Whitewater at Platteville Invite

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- The 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams paced the Wisconsin-Whitewater at the Wisconsin-Platteville Invitational on Saturday.

The 4x100 relay team of Moriarty Brown-Griffin, Bryce Rudebeck, Dylan Crafton and Corey Broussard finished first with a season best time of 41.59. That time is the best in the WIAC and fourth best in the country. Crafton also turned in a third place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.63; fastest in the WIAC and third fastest in the nation.

Rudebeck, Alex Sharrock, Devin Grainger and Jared Denu won the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:18.13; best in the WIAC and fifth in the nation. Denu and Rudebeck added a 2-3 finish in the 400 meters. Denu clocked a 49.31 and Rudebeck a 49.46.

The Warhawks took four of the top eight spots in the long jump. Alex Tassoul led the way with a jump of 6.72m (22' .75") to finish fourth. Cody Cassidy and Grant Braker tied for sixth with a leap of 6.66m (21' 10.25") and Daniel Freiberg finished eighth with a jump of 6.63m (21' 9").

The Warhawks also had two top-eight finishers in the 110-meter hurdles with a fourth place finish by Mike Judd (15.01) and a fifth place finish by Bryce Davis (15.22). Sharrock chipped in a fifth place finish in the 400-meter hurdles clocking a time of 56.09 while teammate Kevin Gorman finished eighth with a time of 56.50. Corey Broussard added a third place finish in the 100 meters with a time of 10.67.

Stephen Sousa placed third in the javelin with a throw measuring 54.44m (178' 7") and teammate Jordan Dominiak added a sixth place finish with a distance of 51.32m (168' 4").
