Previewing the 2023 DI outdoor track and field championships

Seven returning men's and 11 returning women's outdoor track and field individual event champions are set to compete and defend their title in 2023. Here are the returning champions and their events:

Men's champions

  • 400 meter hurdles - Sean Burrell | LSU 
  • 1500M - Joe Waskom | Washington
  • 10,000 meters- Dylan Jacobs | Tennessee (won title at Notre Dame)
  • Long jump - Wayne Pinnock | Arkansas (won title at Tennessee)
  • Pole vault - Sondre Guttormsen | Princeton
  • Discus - Claudio Romero | LSU (won title at Virginia)
  • Javelin - Marc Minichello | Georgia (won title at Penn)
