GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Nazareth outlasted host Thiel on Saturday in a a four-set match at the AVI Invitational. The Golden Flyers also defeated Mount St. Joseph in three sets. The scores against Thiel were 25-23, 23-25, 26-24, 25-22. While the scores against Mount St. Joseph  were 26-24, 25-17, 25-16.

The win evened Nazareth's record at 3-3 overall. The Golden Flyers entered the weekend tournament ranked fifth nationally in Division III.

Against Thiel, senior Billy Gimello produced 12 kills and six blocks and senior Ellis Walsh added 10 kills and four blocks.

Junior Dan Mowery was a defensive contributor with 15 digs and junior setter EJ Wells-Spicer totaled 44 assists.

Freshman Bordy Cord led the Golden Flyers in the second match with 11 kills. Senior Dan Miranda added nine kills and five blocks and Wells-Spicer had 33 assists with seven digs. Freshman Nick McDonagh contributed seven kills and nine digs.
