SPOKANE, Wash. -- Lauren Kreiger posted 12 kills and four blocks to lead a balanced Linfield attack that rolled past Cal Lutheran 30-21, 30-28, 30-21 in a first round match at the West Regional of the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament on Thursday night in the Whitworth Fieldhouse.

Linfield finished with ten team blocks and a .252 hitting percentage to improve to 21-4 overall. The Wildcats come into the tournament as the sixth seed in the west and ranked 18th in the latest CSTV/AVCA Division III poll. Katelyn Baker added nine kills, while Lindsay Harksen finished with eight kills, 16 digs and four blocks. Molly Turner led the Wildcats with six blocks, while Kelly Rilee finished with 21 digs. Chelsey Gellatly had 33 assists.

Mo Coverdale finished with a match-high 15 kills to lead CLU, while Meredith Nelson added 12 kills. But the Regals hit only .107 in the match and had only two team blocks. Keely Smith totaled 22 digs to lead all players and Bailey Surratt dished a team-high 30 assists. CLU, the third seed and ranked 16th, ends the season with a record of 18-3.

Linfield broke away from an 8-8 tie in the first game with a 10-3 run. The Wildcats won the first game on a Regal service error.

CLU took a 13-10 lead in the second game on a Coverdale kill. But the Wildcats came back to go ahead 14-13 on a Regal attack error. The teams traded leads three more times before Molly Taylor's kill gave Linfield the win.

Sensing the kill, Linfield jumped to leads of 10-5, 16-8 and 21-10 in the third game. Trailing 29-17, CLU fought off four straight match points before a service error ended the game and the match in favor of the Wildcats.

Linfield advances to the regional semifinals to play the winner of a match between host Whitworth College and Colorado College on Friday night.
