EMPORIA, Kans. - The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs kept their playoff hopes alive by defeating the Pitt State Gorillas in four sets with scores of 25-20, 31-29, 22-25, and 30-28. WT is now 34-4 overall and will advance to the semifinals, taking place on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 7:00 p.m. in Emporia, Kans.

"This was a really fun match to watch," said head coach Tony Graystone. "This is was the playoffs are all about. Pitt State played terrific and it was good to see us stand up and play our best volleyball."

Four Lady Buffs tallied double-digit kills. Laura Prinsen (junior, rightside hitter, Spring, Texas) recorded a double-double, tallying 19 kills and 17 digs. Natalie Johnson (junior, outside hitter, Cortez, Colo.) led the team in kills, setting a new career high, with 26 in 52 attempts for a hitting percentage of .346. Lauren Thedford (sophomore, outside hitter, Carrollton, Texas) put down 13 kills and Melissa Harper (junior, middle blocker, Peoria, Ariz.) contributed 11 kills.

Katie Rickwartz (junior, setter, Canyon, Texas) recorded a season-high 66 assists and contributed two service aces. WT's defense was led by Sara Contreras (senior, libero, Amarillo, Texas) who recorded 29 digs against the Gorillas.

The Lady Buffs continue NCAA Division II Regional volleyball action on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 7:00 p.m. They face the winner of #1-seed Emporia State vs. #8-seed UT-Permian Basin.
