Key Notes: In nine sets last week, Middleborn, the 2010 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) National Player of the Year, tallied 37 kills on 53 swings, 15 total blocks, six digs and one service ace while recording a .604 hitting percentage. During a three-set win against Chico State, Middleborn posted an .850 hitting percentage after totaling 17 kills on 20 attempts without an attack an error.

• Oddly, second-ranked Tampa has the weekend off. The Spartans take on Rollins on Wednesday night and then will be off until Tuesday when they take on Palm Beach Atlantic. Tampa is 13-0 and 5-0 in Sunshine State Conference play.

• Fifth-ranked Washburn will host the Lady Blue Fall Classic this weekend. Between Friday and Saturday, the Ichabods will take on Dallas Baptist, Abilene Christian, Tarleton State and No. 20 Angelo State.
