BEREA, Ohio -- Tenth-ranked Mount Union clinched the No. 1 seed in next week's Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament and the OAC regular season championship with its three-set win (25-18, 25-20, 25-18) against Baldwin Wallace on Tuesday.

The Purple Raiders will be the conference's top seed in next week's tournament for the first time in school history. They will have home-court advantage throughout the tournament.

If Mount Union beat Heidelberg on Friday, the Purple Raiders will win the OAC regular season outright (Otterbein is currently one game behind the Raiders). With a loss to Heidelberg, the Raiders will share the title with Otterbein if the Cardinals win their remaining games.

OAC Player of the Week Nicole Snyder paced the Raiders with 11 kills. Junior Taylor Webb and sophomore Mel Patterson followed with 10. Senior Kristen Gromes led the way with a season-high 28 digs. Freshman Kristen Kayser picked up 21 assists for Mount Union.

The win marked Mount Union's 21st overall this season, equaling last year's regular-season win total of 21. The Raiders are now a perfect 8-0 in OAC play and are 18-2 in their last 20 matches.
