LEXINGTON, Ky. – Concordia-St. Paul will open up the season as the No. 1 team in the country in the AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 Preseason Poll.  The Golden Bears received 43 of the possible 48 first place votes coming off their sixth consecutive national championship.

Concordia is joined by three other NSIC schools in the Top 25.  Minnesota-Duluth is ranked fourth while receiving two first-place votes, Southwest Minnesota State is ranked sixth and Wayne State is ranked 20th.  The Golden Bears' Final Four opponents last season picked up the other three first-place votes.  Tampa received one first place vote and BYU-Hawaii received the other two.

The defending champions will begin their season with a demanding stretch that features seven consecutive matches against teams that are nationally ranked or are receiving votes.
