ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Junior All-America Kelly Foley matched her career high with 25 kills and hit .524 to lead No. 4-ranked St. Thomas (Minn.) (30-2) to a 3-1 victory against No. 13-ranked Augsburg (29-5) in Friday night's regional semifinal match at UST Schoenecker Arena. The Tommies won 25-23, 18-25, 25-7, 25-14.
The Tommies used a 19-4 run to close the third set and used a 13-2 run to take control in the fourth set after leading just 11-10 early in the set.
The Tommies will face UW-Stevens Point (33-5), a 3-1 winner against St. Ben's in Saturday's regional final.
Mackenzie Piechowski had 10 kills; Nicole Potts had 14 digs and eight kills; Jill Greenfield had 15 digs and eight kills; and McKenna Reagan had 25 digs, for the Tommies who hit .336 on the match. UST has won 12 in a row this season and 12 consecutive post-season matches.
