"We want to thank Gary for his efforts as head coach for the past six seasons," Dickey said. "His hard work and dedication were assets to our program and to UWG athletics."
Lee came to West Georgia in 2008 and posted a record of 65-115 as the Wolves' head coach. His best season came a year ago as UWG posted a mark of 17-14, and advanced to the championship match of the Gulf South Conference tournament before falling to national power West Florida.
Dickey says that the search for a new head coach will begin immediately as UWG players are set to return to campus next month for the beginning of preseason practice. The 2014 season is set to begin Sept. 5 vs. North Carolina-Pembroke in Winter Park, Florida.
