University of Florida Athletics | September 12, 2014 Gators chomp Toreros Share LOS ANGELES. -- Freshman middle blocker Rhamat Alhassan was unstoppable Thursday as No. 10 Florida (4-2) swept No. 13 San Diego (5-2) to open play at the USC Classic in the Galen Center. The Gators downed the Toreros 25-22, 25-19 and 25-14, delivering head coach Mary Wise her 799th career-win. Alhassan hit .800 for the second time this season, with a career-high 16 kills on 20 errorless swings. She also led Florida in blocking for the sixth consecutive match with five. Sophomore Alex Holston turned in a career-best .538 hitting efficiency and freshman Carli Snyder ended the night with a .462 clip and eight kills.
