Cougars pounce

MORAGA, Calif. -- Alexa Gray led No. 10 BYU against Saint Mary's in a 3-1 (25-12, 23-25, 27-25, 25-14) victory at McKeon Pavilion Saturday afternoon.

Gray tied her season-high with 20 kills for the Cougars to go with a .404 hitting percentage. Camry Godfrey Willardson led the team in assists with 26 while Alohi Robins-Hardy added 15 assists. Whitney Young contributed a team-high six blocks, and Ciara Parker added a team-high 13 digs in the win. Jennifer Hamson contributed double-digit kills with 15 to go along with eight digs and three blocks.

"Hats off to Saint Mary's for competing hard," head coach Shawn Olmstead said. "Our girls gave their all and played tough in some intense moments. Alexa was in rhythm and did some impressive things. We can continue to get better and we'll do just that."
