MEADVILLE, Pa. - On Saturday, Oct. 15, all are invited to join the Allegheny Athletics Family as the Gator community rallies together for #Battle4Bridget Day.
On this day, the department plans to support and honor volleyball head coach Bridget Sheehan, who stepped away from the team for the 2016 season to fight against Fallopian cancer. Proceeds from the day-long fundraiser will go directly to the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute in Meadville.
On October 15, Allegheny will be hosting four athletic events. Women's soccer will start the day with a noon kick-off against Ohio Wesleyan, followed by a 1 p.m. football game against DePauw. The day rounds out at 5 p.m. with a men's soccer contest versus Ohio Wesleyan as well as a volleyball showdown with NCAC rival, Denison.

Bracelets with the #Battle4Bridget logo will also be sold for five dollars at the contest with all proceeds from both the bracelet and t-shirt sales going directly to the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute.
There will also be a raffle at the volleyball game with items donated by the Allegheny Administrative Advisory Committee (AAC) centered around the theme of health and wellness. All proceeds of these will also go to the oncology institute.
