Undefeated DI women's college volleyball teams: Baylor is last to lose in 2019

College volleyball: The best players at every position halfway through the season

And the last undefeated team in college volleyball bites the dust. Baylor was the last perfect team in the 2019 women's college volleyball season, but that ended Wednesday, Oct. 23 when they were taken down in three straight sets by Texas.

Before Wednesday, the Bears had won 31 straight sets since Sept. 12, including 10 consecutive sweeps. They lost the first set to the Longhorns, ended their streak, and then lost the next two.

FULL RECAP: How Texas pulled off the sweep over No. 1 Baylor

Baylor had climbed from the No. 20 spot in the 2019 preseason poll to No. 1 for the first time in program history. This came after the Bears notably took down then-No. 18 Creighton, No. 4 Wisconsin and No. 11 Marquette in non-conference play. Yossiana Pressley has been leading the way for the Bears, especially during their historic 16-0 start. She leads the team by leaps and bounds in kills, and tallied 18 kills in the loss to Texas.

The Bears are now 16-1 overall and 6-1 in the Big 12, with this most recent loss to Texas on the road. Baylor will return home for a matchup against West Virginia on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. ET.
