Wise has career day

ORANGE, Calif. -- Senior All-American Mitch Wise scored a career-high eight goals to help lift UC Irvine against Chapman, 16-6, in a non-conference game Wednesday at Allred Aquatics Center in Orange.

Tyler Mancuso added four goals as the 'Eaters (9-0) picked up their ninth consecutive victory to open the season. 

Alex Kazmier played in the first half in goal and recorded five saves while Michael Bailey had six stops in the second half for the 'Eaters.

Six different players scored one goal each for Chapman, 2-2 on the season.

After Chase Middleworth scored a goal late in the second quarter to pull the Panthers within 7-4 at halftime, Wise scored four of his goals in the third quarter to help UCI extend its lead to 13-5 entering the final period.  Wise has 33 goals this season.
