NORTH EAST, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst registered a perfect three-for-three showing this afternoon at the Liguori Fieldhouse as they took part in the Mercyhurst North East Quad Meet.  The Lakers beat East Stroudsburg University (33-14), Seton Hill  (38-12) and Mercyhurst North East (34-15).

174lb freshman August Mizia and sophomore Michael Pollard both picked up three wins in today's action.  Mizia wrestled to two major decision wins while marking another win via forfeit.  The Bentleyville, Pa. native is now 15-6 on the season.  Pollard picked up two wins by way of forfeit.  The 184-pounder earned his third win of the day after pinning Will Espisito of East Stroudsburg.  Pollard is now 15-4 entering the Grand Canyon Duals.

Redshirt junior Jordan Shields, Redshirt Senior Josh Shields, senior Fred Hale, and junior Seth Stonis all went a perfect 2-0 on the day.  Jordan Shields wrestled to a decision win against East Stoudsburg's Braden Turner then went on to beat Adam Murranduzzo in a 13-0 major decision.  That win started a six bout win streak for the Lakers propelling them to a 38-12 victory over Seton Hill.

Josh Shields moved to 3-0 on the season after pinning both Kurt McCamley of Seton Hill and James Bennett of Mercyhurst North East.  Hale the Lakers 285lb grappler improved to 17-4 overall this season after pinning Eric Minard of Seton Hill and wrestling to a 8-2 decision against East Stroudsburg's Joe Blaes.  Stonis earned a victory against the number one regionally ranked wrestler at the 197lb class in Eddie Ebewo after a medical forfeit.

The Lakers 125lb and 133lb grapplers both went 2-1 during the quad meet.  Sophomore Ryan Bohince registered a tech fall win and major decision while teammate Kody Young earned two pin wins.  Young, a freshman, holds an 18-5 overall record and a 3-1 dual record.  Bohince moves to 15-9 on the season.

Redshirt junior Jeffrey Pollard earned his first dual meet victory of the season in his only match of the day.  The Fairview, Pa. native pinned Mercyhurst North East's Matt Knapp.

Chaz Sheaffer and Levi Smeltzer also earned victories in today's festivities.  Sheaffer wrestled to a decision win against Brian Slattery of Mercyhurst North East while Smeltzer beat Aaron Lett 7-0.
