Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Title IX in the culminating WBB joint championships with the NCAA!

 
 
NCAA Title IX 50th Anniversary Showcase, presented by AT&T
When: March 3 - April 30, 2023
Location: AT&T Discovery District
Hours:
Monday - Wednesday: 5:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Thursday: 5:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Friday: 5:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Saturday: 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Sunday: 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
 
Opening on March 3rd at the AT&T Discovery District, the NCAA’s Title IX 50th Anniversary Showcase is a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Title IX through a display of trophies, videos, uniforms, and other mementos that recognize and celebrate NCAA female student-athletes from all sports. This exhibit will include artifacts from the NCAA, USA Basketball, Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame (WBHOF), Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), and more. This exhibit will be open for almost two months, closing on April 30th.  Learn about the history of women’s basketball and celebrate its growth through this showcase.
 
 
NCAA Legends and Legacy Award Celebration
When: Wednesday, March 29
Location: DEC on Dragon - Invite Only Event
Hours: 5:30-7:30 p.m. CST
 
The NCAA Legends and Legacy Award Celebration puts a spotlight on the career accomplishments and civic involvement of former student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and community leaders during the Women’s Final Four weekend. The celebration will honor living legends who have committed their time, resources, and influence to improve and invest in their local communities. The NCAA Legends and Legacy Award Celebration will take place on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the DEC On Dragon in Dallas (invite only event). 
 
A press release announcement of selected honorees will take place by the end of February. Honorees will be featured at a reception during WFF week and recognized at the WFF semifinal games during a timeout on Friday, March 31st at American Airlines Center.
 
 
 
“If Not for Them” Docuseries Sneak Preview Event
When: Thursday, March 30
Location: TBA
Time: 7:00 p.m. CST

Join the NCAA at the premiere of “If Not for Them” on Thursday, March 30th at 7 p.m. This event honors the 50th anniversary of Title IX while highlighting the pioneers of women’s basketball. “If Not for Them” is a 10-episode docuseries about the forgotten women who changed the sport of women’s basketball through their love of the game. The full series will not be released until 2024, so this event will consist of quick trailers for each of the 10 episodes. Event participants are welcome to walk the red carpet while mingling and networking before the film and are invited to stay for the panel discussion afterwards. Panelists include Executive Producer Brenda VanLengen and some of the women featured in the film.
 
 
 
USOPC National Wheelchair Basketball Activations (e.g., Tourney Town and Halftime Acts)
When: Saturday, April 1
Location: American Airlines Center
 
Throughout the Women's Final Four, the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) National Wheelchair Basketball Association will have activations to highlight inclusive efforts in the sport of basketball. The USOPC will activate with an in-game halftime performance/game during the Division II and III women’s basketball championships during the NCAA’s joint WBB championship weekend. The USOPC will also host an exhibition at center court within Tourney Town, presented by Capital One (official WFF fan festival).
 
The USOPC halftime acts of the DII and DIII National Championships will take place on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at American Airlines Arena. The Tourney Town activation that is yet to be determined will be held at the Dallas Convention Center.
